It’s been bugging me for weeks. I’ve noticed it there, deep, dark and foreboding, but none of my ideas even came close to filling it.
And if they did, they created other plot holes. Which was not even an alternative.
So I waited.
Weeks went by. I tried to ignore the plot hole – tried to concentrate on other things. Other stories. But it was always there. In the back of my mind. Taunting me.
Until today, when I woke up, and I had the answer. I knew how to fill it.
It had been staring me in the face the entire time. I had a massive pile of plot hole filling dirt right in front of me, just waiting for me to pick up the shovel and scoop it into the hole.
And I have.
And although I have come out the other end dirty and sweaty, the hole is now plugged, and I am once again a Happy Author.
What experiences have you had with plot holes? Are they your worst nightmare? Or are you able to easily think up ways around them?
