Three Quarters

I’m at the three quarter point in my manuscript.

Writers will know what I mean – it’s the time when you have to fight the hardest against the urge to go back and edit the whole thing, when you wonder if it’s ever going to end, when you ask yourself if it’s even that good and if you should chuck it in the garbage and just start over.

I know this novel isn’t my Magnum Opus.  At least I hope it isn’t.  That would be a little bit embarrassing.

And Bree Verity’s stamp on the world was a sweet little romance novel.

Don’t get me wrong – I love romance novels.  And if my legacy was 100 sweet little romance novels, that I could live with.  But one sweet little romance novel?  No.  I say again, No!

There are another thirteen books percolating in my head – and while they all have romantic elements, only a few of them are true, pure romance.  Add in a little history, a little mysticism, a little magic, and a little adventure, and you’ll get a better idea of the legacy I wish to leave.

But for now, on with the romance novel.  Only one quarter left to go…
